They seem to be dealing with it. Russians are used to massive losses of men in wars, it's like Americans and excessive firepower use. It's part of their DNA.

Maybe, but the thing is that a peace deal shouldn't be just between Ukraine and Russia. It should rather be an international agreement signed by a number of regional states - G7, China, India, Brazil etc. In other words, Putin should take some obligations before his 'allies' too.
