Trials of life: The Squirrel V. the Rabbit...who knew?

So...I goofed up. I put out some peanuts for the local squirrel population....and threw out some carrots for the local rabbits.......

I am essentially creating a fattened population for the local foxes, hawks and coyotes.........

But it was a mistake...I threw the carrot too close to the peanuts....and wow...the one squirrel got gangsta on the poor bunny.......

The rabbit approached the carrot....and the squirrel charged him....making the poor rabbit jump straight in the air and dash several feet away from the food........then it was a steely eyed staring match by the squirrel vs. the rabbit.....

I've had a squirrel proof bird feeder for several years but the local squirrels have yet to realize it after scads and scads of frustrating failed attempts to get at its goodies. Even the various birds give them stupid sorts of looks watching them trying to circumvent the low tech security.
