One of the first things a soldier learns is their General Orders the 1st Order is, I will guard everything with in the limits of my post and quit my post only when properly relieved. Bergdahl fucking failed and put his fellow soldiers in danger because he was not doing his duty, later he put them in even more danger because they had to search for his sorry ass.

During a time of War he could get the death penalty. but you can bet money he won't. One thing the President can't do with a pardon is change the reason for a discharge or expunge the conviction. Bergdahl's DD-214 will show the Court Martial and it will also show if he is discharged for other than honorable reasons or dishonorable. If he gets out of Prison time you can bet sometime, somewhere a Vet will recognize him and beat his sorry ass.
