With another possible government shutdown looming on Jan. 15, 2014, if Republicans and Democrats fail to reach a long-term compromise on the budget, Cruz would not rule out the possibility of once again threatening a shutdown unless the Affordable Care Act is repealed.

Asked about the fact that he has faced public ridicule from his colleagues in Congress, including many members of his own party, Cruz said heÂ’s only concerned with the opinions of his Texas constituents -- not his fellow senators.

Ted Cruz faults his party for agreeing to 'lousy' deal to reopen the government

This guy is a real nut. What the hell is it with Texas? First we have this and then we have the other nut that tells disabled Vets they haven't sacrificed enough.

.

Cruz is only concerned about Cruz. Unfortunately for him, there is a world that exists outside of TX; and that world doesn't like him.

If the GOP aren't willing to hold their ground, what's the point? They put on this big ta-do like it really means something when all along they have absolutely no intention of holding any monies/increasing the dc/etc up. It. Is. All. Theatrics. Biggovloverpols love biggov, ... Ds and Rs alike. When's the next dc hike due? Feb? Dance, dance, dance cause the party will just go on and on.

It amazes me that a Republican representative can get on TV and proudly announce a quarter of the people in their district has no health care. They seem to be happy to see these people suffer.

Hey ALL those politicians in Washington have found a way to draw a good paycheck and never have to do ANY real work. They are just actors on a stage. Good gig if you can get it.

Canadian performance artist Ted Cruz found that he made a lot of money during the shutdown. Frothing nutbags couldn't wait to open their wallet for him.

I think we need to invest in smelling salts or paper bags.

could make some money....lol

When the citizens in this country care more about the government than the people in this country, you know we are HISTORY

Cruz is safe in Texas, but most congress critters from the TeaP are vulnerable in the primaries.

When did Ted Cruz shut it down the first time?

You're right. It was the Koch brother's money that shut it down the first time, and Cruz is just their sock puppet.

What color is the sky in your world?

Why the heck would the GOP want to give up the one wedge it has in advance? Surrender Monkey McConnell already declared oh no he wont shut down govt. If so, what incentive do the Dums have to compromise? All they need to do is say NO and McConnell will cave. The script is already written.
By refusing to rule out a shutdown Cruz leaves all options on the table. He is a leader with balls. No wonder the Dums hate him. How many hate threads have you seen from those bozos on McConnell?

The intelligence of some here is astounding...
I'm surprised they are allowed computers...they should be taken away from sheep...they might drool on them or shed all over them

This information comes from her personal experience.

Ted Cruz should form a National Socialist third party. You know he wants to.

Do you think that "world" outside of Texas will vote him out?

I think we'll see a lot diapers soiled over him before then...

adults pooping in diapers can't be a pretty thing

Democrats believe that they can vote popular republicans out of office by registering as republicans and voting for unpopular republican candidates.

Dishonesty can easily subvert the vote.
