I enjoyed the Smothers Brothers. I didn’t care for their leftist political leanings.

But, to this day, I think it is pure GENIUS to yell “FIRE” if you fall into a vat of chocolate.

Oh the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour was subversive as hell. They changed tv forever.

It started as entertainment, like all the sitcoms, to distract you from the social and political issues. The Smothers Bros hit the issues head-on. It was a function of the 1960s.
