Today in the middle of an intense temperature drop we reached a new co2 Peak!

Ten inches of snow in Presque Isle today. We got a couple but it's stopped for now.

Why would that make the CO2 ppm shoot up? Aren't a lot of factories closed? Half the traffic on the road? What's causing it?

CO2 levels fluctuate with the seasons ... plants are growing this time of year ...
Ummmmm wut???

Plants ELIMINATE co2 not create it lol

Just how many people here don't understand basic plant functions? ...

Yes, during the day plants absorb carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere and with solar energy they make ... let's just use a simple sugar like glucose as an example ... and this releases oxygen into the atmosphere as a by product ...

Now, at night ... plants use respiration to unlock the energy in the sugar for use by the myriad of other necessary functions ... they absorb oxygen out of the atmosphere and "burn" the sugar and release CO2 back out into the atmosphere ... just like animals do ... this is easily demonstrated by the fact some plants bloom at night {Cite}, when there is no solar energy ... therefore the plant must be getting the energy by "burning" stored sugars ... aka respiration ...

There is a net carbon storage for trees, scrubs and perennial plants ... but humans have stripped much of the Earth's surface of these types and replaced them with annuals ... corn, wheat and beans ... what little carbon is stored in these grains are fed to livestock and respirated away ... thus the seasonal variations in carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere ...

It's said that human share about 50% of their genome with banana trees ... cells of all manner of organisms share much of their basic functions ... and that includes respiration which produces CO2 ...

Daily co2 proudly announces the highest ppm in recorded history.
416 ppm! Oh it is glorious.
Brrrrrrrr

Jo

Can the climate activists defend China again? It's wonderful seeing them defend the biggest polluter, while attacking their own.

And when you factor in the Southern Hemisphere those things cancel out.
So how is the CO2 increase explained and why is it still hot in summer and cold in winter?
Because AGW is a political bullshit exercise?
