I am dropping out of what has become an antisemitic hate site. The double standards when it comes to Jews is appalling, and it’s become downright toxic as the lies, attacks, and bullying is allowed to continue.

1) Think of this thread: it was specifically to try to get the mods to abide by the Zone 1 rules they set, specifically stating that trolling, personal insults, bigotry, and the like will not be tolerated in Zone 1. Yet, the antisemitism is flourishing even in these threads, and this was my last-ditch attempt to stop it.

2) Now consider the response by the antisemites. Because their campaign to drive Jew-hate to 1938 Nazi levels can only be successful if it is allowed to continue, they zoom in to attack me personally, laughing how Jews are like dogs (or supporting those who say so), and trying to delegitimize ME.

3) Now consider how Newsvine zooms in to dig up a post from years ago in which I correctly pointed out that a black girl with a excellent SAT (but not perfect) got accepted into every Ivy League school, yet Asians with a PERFECT score have been rejected by every one of them - and that this is the unfair result of affirmative action. Newsvine is livid with what she insists is my racism - which is the opposite of it. I am opposed to race-based admissions decisions. Now think how mild what I said was compared to the antisemitic filth allowed here. Has Newsvine ever complained about any of that?

4) The personal attacks on me by the antisemites for objecting to the blatant antisemitism in this forum is what is meant by “the antisemite not only wounds the Jew but mocks him for bleeding too visibly.” In other words, Jews are expected to sit back and watch in silence as their people are lied about and demonized - and if they open their mouths, boom!

5) Finally, this section is labeled “feedback.” I am giving feedback as to how awful antisemitism is permitted to flow even in a Zone 1 thread, and has a mod weighed in? Or even looked at this thread? Or looked at it, shrugged his shoulders, and moved on?

In summary, I’m outta here. It’s simply been allowed to become a toxic, antisemitic site. It’s bad enough in real life - where the NYT reports (falsely of course) that Jews are training dogs to rape Jews…. and Muslims and leftists march near the high school chanting “Death to Jews!”…. and I’ve been advised not to wear my Jewish star in public lest I be assaulted…..I don’t have to come here as well and have it all served up again.

P.S. Watch for the nasty responses and “celebrations” from the antisemites. I guarantee you 90% will be from the Left - the same people who complain about racism.

She doesn't. It is unAmerican to try to stop folks from voicing their opinion, and frankly, there is no rule against posting opinions that others don't like in Zone 1.

The rule in Zone 1 is no personnel attacks. There is nothing in the rules about preventing members giving their honestly held opinions about Israeli policy.


. . . and if there started to be, it is very likely a lot of folks would just stop making content for the forum.

Silencing opinions you don't like doesn't make them go away, it only reinforces the perception by others that they are better arguments.

Here's the problem. You want to equate any criticism of Israel with "Anti-Semitism". There's a major gulf between some Nazi Cosplayers marching in Skokie (which is obnoxious, but still protected free speech) and very sensible young people looking at what is happening in Gaza right now and being appalled by it. But you would have it all banned.

How do you think constantly complaining that you have to read posts you don't like is going to "stop it". The problem is you want to censor speech you don't like.

Okay, you are opposed to race-based admissions.
Other people are opposed to support of Israeli actions in Gaza and perpetual war in the Middle East. It's a politics board and we are supposed to debate politics.

The question is, why are you upset about the Black girl vs. the Asian kid? The Asian kid is still going to get into a university and is still going to have a pretty good life.

Is there a way to unsubscribe from Rubber Room threads so that one doesn’t receive alerts?

What happens sometimes is that a thread begins “upstairs,” but antisemites and racist start in with their trolling and baiting, and the thread gets sent downstairs. Yet, alerts continue to appear every time one of the antisemites posts.

Can and how does one unsubscribe?

Thread 'Is it time for mods to review prohibited words?'

The three words I know that are prohibited are the n-word (reprehensible), the c-word (also reprehensible), and w-ie (sort of mild, but whatever).

But now that we’ve seen how the vile rhetoric the left uses against the right can gin up such hate that it results in a political murder, now might be the time to consider how the message board is allowing the hate level to spread and thus might also prohibit the following:

1) MAGATS - this of course is calling Trump supporters “maggots” and reminds me of how Farrakhan called the Jews “termites.”

2) NAZI - this awful accusation should not be...

I noticed that there had been two threads started yesterday, each about the Islamic attack against innocent Americans: the one in Michigan, and the one in Virginia.

Both began in Current Events, as most certainly they occurred within 24 hours. Both were similar: an Islamist attempted to murder innocent people (and in the latter case, did). Yet one remains in Current Events, and the other was moved to an obscure sub-form entitled Law and Justice.

1) Why?
2) How about if the mod who moves a thread identifies himself so we can address questions like this directly to him?
