The problem here is that the number of haters is growing exponentially and the number willing to stand up against the hate shrinking just as rapidly. They use intimidating tactics to ensure the spread of their hatred and at some point, a tipping point will be reached (if it hasn't already) where the costs associated with defending against the hate simply become too great for otherwise decent people to endure.
