The Biden DOJ established "consent decrees" where they micromanage big city police departments like Baltimore's to make sure they aren't violating the brothers' rights.

I don't get it, are these liberal jurisdictions incapable of establishing their own rules and enforcing them without the help of bureaucrats in Washington DC looking over their shoulders?

I think the idea of these decrees needs to come to an end under Trumpamania.

Let local cities determine their own police procedures

Although I think that the new AG, Pam Bondi, has a full enough plate already without worrying about how much respect the Baltimore PD gives its local crack pushers.

Given the condition that Balitmore is in, I think they have exactly the opposite problem.

The entire city is ran by Blacks. Does that mean that blacks are incapable of being dispassionate and professional? No.

But the leadership in Baltimore has proven that they cannot and they are to much "brother" and not enough law enforcement.

Sure. Let's do that.

It worked out so well the last time Trump did it.

Oh, no, it didn't. The police went right back to using excessive force and we had the George Floyd riots.
JoeB131 doesn't seem to like it.

Consent decrees existed LONG before the Biden administration.

How long? Hmm?
Looks like 1994.

The Ultra Liberal Cities like Minneapolis and Baltimore will only establish and maintain soft-on-crime policies that their own people want, if they are commanded to by the Federal government?

That doesn't make any sense.

Yes, it clearly doesn't make sense to you.

Because you aren't very bright.

The problem blue cities have is the same one red counties have. If you give an insecure loser a badge and a gun, he's going to abuse his authority.

Unless there is someone making sure he doesn't.

Why can't the police chief and the mayor tell the police officers what to do- and if they don't follow procedure and protocol, fire them.

What is the purpose of writing up reports on compliance to AG Bondi?

You mean other than constant review and process improvement?

The mayor and police chief are close to the action, and certainly more qualified to tell officers what procedures to follow that Ms. Bondi in Washington DC

Perhaps. But the fact they haven't is why we need federal watchdogs.

If the mayor of Baltimore doesn't have control of the police force or other city employees, its up to voters to put someone in who can take control.

Well, it seems that if he's asking for help, he's trying to get control.

There's no shame in asking for help.

There's a lot of shame in refusing to help when you can and have been asked.
