Libs have been whining about how they are threatening to take licenses away from liberal liars.

The solution is simple.

Just abolish the agency. Libs should be onboard, no?

The FCC regulates the airwaves. How many Americans get their TV and radio from over-the-air broadcasts? 1%?

I don't even get my music or talk radio over the air anymore. Not with iheart and spotify.

Seems like the FCC's mission has been largely rendered obsolete.

The FCC is involved with utilization and standardization of all airwaves, not just broadcast TV this includes microwave communications, cell phone bands, radio stations, etc.

All that is fine. But TV and radio as a airwave thing is going away. Correction - gone away.

Just as mobile phones killed CB radio, the internet has largely killed broadcast TV and radio. The FCC should come up with a plan to end content regulation and just regulate who gets what frequency in this or that area. And eventually start reallocating some of that bandwidth for other things.

Regulating the airwaves is a critical function.
Use of frequencies, power of stations, licensing is essential. You need a traffic cop for the airwaves

People are also very fond of their cell phones. You don’t want someone interfering with those frequencies

We do need a traffic cop, but I wouldn't want the FCC regulating content in cellphones.

The FCC should get out of the content regulation business for TV And radio. And come up with a plan to reallocate those frequencies for other purposes as they are being increasingly underutilized.

Frequencies today are more critical today than ever.
TV and Radio are small potatoes. Our economy relies on Wireless internet, cell phones,GPS, communications satellites, drones, remote controls.

The FCC doesn't regulate the content on cell phones as they are considered point-to-point communications not general broadcast communications.

They regulate frequency band allocation.
