Republicans do not have a 'purity' test as the left does. Right now they have a cult of personality. There is, quite literally, no core values or ideology within Trump supporters. That is fundamentally different particularly since Trump is a populist. He appeals to broad groups that may be diametrically opposed because they are not united under a core value or idea. They are united under Trump and nothing else. This is also, IMHO, why they can utterly ignore reality as that is not what is important to the right atm.
