Tim Tebow has a good MLB showcase workout.

I will be shocked if he ever gets called up to the bigs. He'd be 30 something by the time that would happen. More than likely, he'll wallow away in the minors for a year or two and then move on to whatever.
Well, at least you hope so.
Now why would I hope that?
Because you pretty much laid that sentiment out in your post.

You essentially hope he doesn't succeed.
And you are full of shit. All I stated was that he didn't have what it took to make it in the NFL, and I don't believe he has what it takes to make it in MLB.
He obviously had what it took. He took his team to the playoffs and won more games than a bunch of great throwers. I can give you a very long list of textbook NFL level pocket passers that couldn't even do that. His problem was more political. With the right offense he could do well. Been around for years, but Denver wanted a Peyton Manning and the press made it their mission in life to drive him out of the NFL. Make an example of him. Only 53 roster spots makes Tim Tebow an extravagant toy that most owners felt they could do without.

I wanted to see Tebow succeed, but he was not a good QB, however he was a great leader. He could have been a TE or a FB but he didn't want to do at. He was given several chances at QB. His mechanics were terrible, his decisions were solid. He could have gone to an indoor football or a CFL team to refine himself.

I hope he can make the Mets.

I still don't understand why a pro football team could not design some plays to utilize Tebos talents. Have a two quarterback system giving tebow option to run or pass. The guy is a baller( even if he is a gator), a leader, and a student of the game. I think he misses being on a team.
He's a Christian. Nobody wants the negative press.
Nobody wants a QB that can't throw. That might have worked in college, but in the pros that doesn't fly in the long run.
Then he easily could have changed positions. He was the best runner at the University Of Florida. Fact is, the Wildcat offence was popular when he was playing.

The problem with Tim Tebow is they wanted him to be something he was not. Quiet about his religion for one. You can be rewarded for protesting your country, but don't praise God openly for scoring touchdowns and not catch Hell from media elistists.

I don't recall anyone of consequence saying anything about Tebow's religious beliefs.

This sort of nonsense always struck me as the same as blacks blaming their failure on racism.

Tebow was cut because he wasn't up to par in the game.

Well I must have a better memory than you, because I remember it very clearly.
Tebow was a number one draft pick by the Denver Broncos. He took his team to the playoffs and won his first playoff game with a 60 yd TD pass.
The team jumped at a chance to pick up Peyton Manning. I would have kept Tebow on the team and used him in a wildcat offense package because he was a proven winner, but because of the media hype over Tebows faith, and his anti-abortion stance, the team decided to trade him to the Jets.

New York was the last place Tebow should have gone because of the anti-Christian liberal media constantly disparaging his habit of kneeling and praying repeatedly during the game. The Jets released him because he was too expensive and too much of a distraction. Being a number one draft pick drove his price up too high for him to be affordable. Lots of teams would love to have him but weren't willing to pay the price. The former Heisman Trophy winner and two time national champion just didn't have an NFL arm they claimed. So that's the excuse they needed not to give him a tryout. Who cares that he threw for 17 TDs and 9 int. and ran for 12 TDs. His passer rating was 75.3 which was all the excuse they needed to dump him. Cam Newton's passer rating so far in 2016 is 69.5 but he isn't against abortion.....or at least it's not an issue....cuz he's black. Cam Newton is considered a great QB and was a missed FG from beating the defending NFL champion Denver Broncos last Thursday night.

I heard he just signed a big contract, good for him!

Oh and by the way, many big league players make bad throws from the outfield.

Well....Tebow signed a small contract...$100K with the NYMets minor league (baseball) affiliate.
He has a net worth between $3-$10 million, so....probably just wants to stay active in sports.

Best of luck to him.

He went 25th in the 2010 draft. He played sparingly and after Orton started 1-4, Tebow took over the second half of a game against the Chargers. In is career he threw 17 touchdowns, 9 interceptions an had a passer rating around 75, which isn't all that good. His mechanics were bad, it had nothing to do with his faith. One thing that did happen was the Tebow Rule, that prohibited messages under the eyes.
