That's not true.
Since 1980, worker productivity has been steadily rising while working wages have become stagnant. Here is actual proof:
So you are making the assumption that hard work equals better pay when the facts and data suggest that hard work equals stagnant pay.
That's the problem Rabbi. You're philosophy makes logical sense. People should be paid higher for being more productive. The problem is, the facts don't support that philosophy and Democrats want that philosophy of work to reign true.
Workers today are either getting laid off and not finding jobs or are given even more responsibilities at work without a corresponding raise. If workers starting to complain, those complaining workers will be fired and other workers will notice. Then they won't speak out over the lack of raises and benefits they are getting.
Now these workers have more responsibilities to where bosses insinuate that they have to work harder because there is "talk" that they might be downsizing the company. So the worker works even harder, even off the clock just to keep the job they have. All the while their rent goes up, the price of food goes up and other goods and services too. Now they are working harder, getting less money (adjusted for inflation) and it begins to destroy families.
While at the top, they are getting more and more money. They are using that money to make themselves more money. Then with recent court decisions by Citizens United and McCutheon that means the richest 1% can get everything they want with no objections. With the rest of the people getting the scraps. This isn't the America the Founding Fathers dream of. They didn't want a ruling class oppressing the people. That's what we are heading to in this country.
The rich do not benefit the rest of society, they only benefit themselves. We can not have a functioning democracy when the ruling class suppresses the rights of the people through fear and intimidation.
