I used to believe that Trump was naive about the ways of DC and was duped into hiring, with the exception of RFK, Jr., exclusively Deep Staters over 2 Administratons

I see it a bit differently. I believe that, once confirmed and assuming office, many of these folks see what they think is a way to compromise. They become a bit overly-accommodating toward the other side (a move to the middle). (I sniff the stench of the philosophy of “we must go along to get along.”)

Sadly, that only seems to happen on the R side. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the D folks in those positions (during D Admins) generally seem to be incapable of moving toward accommodation or compromise.
