Thread moved or gone?

I posted a thread this morning in the General Discussion forum. It seemed no more risque than some I have participated in.

I received notification that it had been moved to another forum, and I cannot access it.

Is "moved to another forum" the same as deleted? Seems harsh.

USMB takes out the trash a lot of times. If they didn't they would be stuck with just trash.
