What a study - I read about this being a problem over 5 years ago, we switched to glass food containers and we buy Smart water which is BPA free.
Holy shit people - 300,000 a year deaths. That is more than Covid

I call BS.

Having microplastics does not equate to them killing people.

I call BS.

Mean Green gets you clean. ;)

Please let me direct your attention to some pertinent words in the article.

In an analysis of population surveys, researchers at NYU Langone Health discovered that daily exposure to chemicals in common household items could have been a factor in more than 356,000 heart disease deaths in 2018 alone.

Seems it would have been more responsible to verify before broadcasting something sensational to get clicks.
Then there is this:
About 695,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year

The definitive statement is it clearly states that "it could have". Meaning that it could have or might not have. How much of a factor is it. Yet how many have not died.

Yup you could say that. Considering that there is no person in the US today that is not exposed to plastics on a daily basis, even you with your nalgene and BPh free bottles. Do you know what kind of plumbing they use in that SMART water plant? I would be willing to bet there is some plastic piping in that plant. You could also say that opening your eyes in the morning COULD be a contributing factor. Everyone does it.

Disagree. Plastics needs to be studied and taken to task despite how much you for whatever reason want to protect the plastic industry. Plastics are not in any way natural and perhaps it's time we start to heavily investigate their safety despite their profits.

Well plastic is natural right? I would call it a fact. The plastic industry is hurting public health. Imagine that.
Wow, you just turned "COULD be a factor" into "The plastic industry IS hurting public health." Do you see how misinformation gets started?

Do you think these plastics have not been vetted by the FDA and EPA?
You would be incorrect. I have no affiliation or loyalty to the plastics industry--in fact I think they are more harmful to the environment than most anything in human possession. Humans are PIGS. There are massive rafts of plastics floating in the oceans and microplastics can be found in every living organism, but I fail to see any benefit to promoting disingenuous woulda, coulda, shoulda narratives when discussing issues that can be studied to the point of FACTS, not just "well maaaaaaybe so, maaaaybe not"

I'm for studying it and holding industry accountable is all. What would you say if it was found to be a carcinogen?
I would submit that there is NOTHING that you are exposed to that is NOT a carcinogen to a degree. LOL, you're hilarious. At 95 you have been exposed to more known carcinogens in greater amounts than probably 99% of the population but you're still here. Fancy that.

And the fact people are exposed to it for profit is a sad statement . I'm here to point out the li.itless wrongs I see in the nation.

If you read the link, it says that phthalates in plastics is the main problem that has been recognized and that they have been reduced for that reason however, the biggest takeaway, and why, IMO, the article was written is the claim that phthalates affect minorities the most. There was a law passed in 2008 to prohibit them in children's toys and it established a permanent review board to determine the safety of phthalates.

Please see post #17. There are studies--as I told you in a previous post. The fact that some kid at NYU decided that plastics COULD BE A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR and the msm picked it up bears no response.

And those studies...are they done by the plastic producers? They should have no input. We need an independent study. The plastic producers should have no input nor defense during the study.
