He's resigned as leader of the Liberal Party, but he didn't resign as Prime Minister. He remains the Prime Minister until the Liberals pick a new leader, or Parliament is dissolved, whichever comes first.

Parliament has been recessed to give the Liberals time to pick a new leader, but the NDP and the Conservatives have promised a non-confidence motion the moment the House is in session. The Liberals have to call an election by October of this year, but the opposition wants one NOW.

The NDP formed an alliance with Trudeau to prop up the Liberals for the past 4 years, but have now said that with Trudeau gone, so it the deal.

Nobody balked. Trump didn't have ANY negotiations with them whatsoever. He just tried to slap tariffs on so he could show you how tough he is and how much he's doing for Americans.

Trump wanted the propaganda of making it look like he forced us to do these things. It was the same thing last time. Canada and Mexico had been LOBBYING for years to update NAFTA. All Trump had to do was make a call and say "Can we talk?". But instead, he hit us with tariffs, to "force us to the bargaining table".

No force was necessary at all. But then you think Trump looks "tough" bullying other nations around. We think he looks like a fool for all of this shit. And you look stupid letting him lie to you about ALL of it.

This seems like Trump's MO. This is why I didn't freak out when I heard about this initially. I knew this was just Trump's starting point for negotiations. Start high, settle somewhere in the middle and call it a win. But now it seems like Trump is just starting shit, and then when he backs down we thank him for not causing a mess. So he gets "credit" with voters for doing the right thing.

But he didn't have to start the trouble in the first place.

BTW, do you think Trump and his rich buddies didn't purchase a bunch of stock yesterday when the market tanked? So Trump might have purposely caused the stock market to go down one day, then it goes back up after he backs off. But not before he and his rich buddies purchased a bunch of stocks yesterday.

My brother did this. In one day he made more than most of us make all year.

I told you all that, this $1.3B was announced a month ago lol. I remember numbers fairly well and thought "what a waste of cash for a non-threatening border" (at least at the moment).

Trump is the consummate salesman I will give him that. We still need to renegotiate in 30 days time so we aren't out of the woods yet.
