What you are doing with tariffs is raising the prices so high on the goods consumers buy that have tariffs put on them,
so that many citizens can't afford to buy the goods at the same rate they were,
which slows down the retailer's sales, which slows the retailer's reorder rate from the American whole seller who manufactures them in China...
After a few years of the whole seller losing sales because the product has to be priced so high to compensate for the tariffs, he is then forced to bring manufacturing back to the united states....
THIS IS A PIPEDREAM.
And making us citizens pay the higher prices for the goods, making the retailer lose sales due to price resistance,
then finally hurting the whole seller who is the business who chose to manufacture their goods overseas...
This is a whole lot of hurting, put on to the consumer, and on to the retailer, before it actually hurts the manufacturer who chose to go overseas....the culprit.
And do NOT FORGET, China will then put tariffs on goods they buy from our American businesses, hurting them in retribution....
Tariffs are the WORST IDEA EVER! They are built in taxes that we, the consumer will be paying, in a BIG way! A HUGE TAX HIKE on the little guy, us.
