This is why the minimum wage is not needed

they have no ability to understand life and costs. They only know free!!! they are the, thank you sir may I have another culture.
This is so dumb.

If one needs to apply for and take a minimum wages job as an adult, then they must have made many poor decisions in their lives.
Maybe. Who knows? I'm not interested in judging people over their work ethic. But if someone wants to take a job for less than someone else's idea of a "minimum" wage, they should be allowed to. It's no one else's business. Literally.

Just my opinion, but as an adult, if you’re only option is minimum wage, then in my opinion that person really hasn’t tried to better their life.

Now if a person has other supports and just wants to stay active in a minimum wage job, then great.

You see that a lot around here with retired people who are going insane sitting at their houses all day, so they get a job like door greeter for Wal Mart just so they can do something. They don't care about the pay. They just want something to do. They might also do it for the medical care, as I believe Wal Mart offers great medical coverage for everyone, down to door greeters. I know some companies offer good coverage, even for part time employees. I've seen grey haired old men working at McDonalds with giggly little pig tailed teenage girls. He's clean, well shaved, neat as a pin. Obviously doesn't need that job, he just enjoys doing something.

minimum wage jobs were for teenagers and college kids to earn living growing up into society. It was never to have a career at minimum wage. I know of no courses taught on minimum wage.

Trying to remember what 11:50 would buy at that time. I guess it'd be roughly equivalent to about 100 bucks today.
We didn't have thousand dollar sneakers, playstations, iphones, internet, television and streaming charges that young folks today just can't survive without though. LOL, My first full year in the military in 1969 paid about $6K---for the entire year.

my first job in 1977 out of college paid 4.29 an hour.

Heh... right. That's really how liberals think. You think that, unless big daddy government steps in, we'll just wallow in our own filth until we expire.
Ask a serf from the middle ages.

Sure, but if you really wanted to be cool, you had to have a Craig Powerplay on your hump and blast out Maggie May as you drove slowly through the parking lot.

If there were any around, I would. I guess once we get socialism we'll be back in that mode, but not yet!
It's unregulated capitalism that will lead us back to serfdom.

Uh huh. Unregulated capitalism is what liberated us from serfdom, the system where the government controls labor and resources. Socialism seeks to bring that back.

No. Serfdom was when all the resources were owned by the wealthy, that's where we are headed.

No, the resources were owned by the government. The only difference between feudalism and socialism is that under socialism, every now and then, the serfs get to vote. Yay!
