There is strength and security in numbers, April, it affords the individual anonymity, so they adopt one person speaking for all of them, and the Left live for and off of that mentality of group think, which they tell themselves is validated by their numbers! So the weaker and broader the base the more they justify its existence as valid, whereas conservatives think for themselves and tend to be more independent, so not only do they have a wider stance on opinions, this also sets them at a decided disadvantage because it makes it much harder for conservatives to all organize under one banner against the highly organized and proactive Left.
