This is what extortion looks like.

No, he threatened them. That's coercion.
Oh? "You'll suffer the consequences" is a sage statement, not a threat. All he said was if you do something stupid, you'll find out the hard way. Good advice for anyone.

Now hold on. DJT simply made a suggestion. He verbalized his sentiments. That's first amendment free speech and fair play.

Harris, on the other hand, campaigned on the idea that the federal government should nationalize the large businesses. Somehow, by being taken over by politically appointed bureaucrats they would somehow be more able to pay workers more and would become better companies.

The Biden/Harris administration also implemented a Bureau of Truth who did in fact tell the top social media companies who to ban and censored millions of Americans from speaking their opinions. The bureau was struck down by the SCOTUS, thank God, but there is evidence that they continued to operate under the table.

You are literally accusing the Trump administration of doing what the previous administration in fact did. Those media companies are already owned by private enterprise which is far better than being owned and controlled by corrupt, unresponsive government agents.

There has to be a separation between government, the media, and business. just like there is a separation of power within the federal government itself.
"You are literally accusing the Trump administration of doing what the previous administration in fact did."
NO. I am accusing the Trump administration of going much further to restrict free speech than the Biden administration, or any other administration in the history of the United States.

By speaking his mind and ignoring "political correct" stuff?

I'd say sending the FBI to dictate content and threatening to end federal contracts if they didn't comply might be the biggest peace-time censorship I've ever heard of.

But Trump arranging to possibly have private entrepreneurs buy out a failing media company or two is worse? Do say. You're saying you think it would be better to have them run by the federal government?

Free speech threaten by somebody speaking their mind?
No, free speech threatened by the sitting President of the United States telling networks and media organizations to get rid of on-air personalities, and get rid of people on boards overseeing media, while having control over what media companies can merge or expand in what was historically, and by design a free marketplace. They could historically support free speech, until supporting it threatens their livelihood of themselves and their companies, at the will of Trump and his administration's enforcers.

White was being serious?

Ya know? That’s even funnier!

Marxists always accuse others of the bad shit they themselves do. That is why they are so good at describing it.

Most of the legacy media is already politically left. Programs like The View NEVER have conservatives on air. The late night shows only bash Trump and the republicans. Maybe a little extortion is indicated. However their loss of viewership will soon render them in consequential anyway.
Wasn't it Susan Rice that was front and center in the Benghazi lie?

The networks and media have been infiltrated by far-left Marxist thinking. The they push equity under the guise of equality. People are getting tired of the same old politically correct bullshit, like making sure there is always a mixed race couple in commercials or by substituting a black in a traditionally white movie or substituting a woman in what would have been a traditionally male role. Ever notice how men are always portrayed as numbskulls in a lot of commercials while the female always has it 'all together?' It's just wrong, misandrist, sickening and racist however, since the Democrats control the main stream media and they are proven to be racist and show a hatred of maleness, that is what we get.

Yeah. I've heard the excuses. If a Dem Pres were doing this, you'd be flipping out - and for good reason. This is not how government is supposed to work in a free society.

Republicans (especially MAGA Republicans) will support Trump on this. Afterall, you cannot exercise political control over business, if you cannot eliminate people from the other party out of power in private industry. The man who would be king, simply does not believe in business and industry charting their own course, uncontrolled by government. So, extortion is the play of the day.
It is Progs who traditionally take corporate interests to task. We are building up China and you guys have no retort on it. They have a new massive conventional aircraft carrier series they have launched, the first, and it is their third and are building a fourth that is nuclear. Their military is enlarging at a rapid pace while you have your planned insurrections on the streets promoted by our traitors and sellouts.

Yes along with HELLiary 'what difference does it make' Clinton. I mean, think about that statement. Is that 'what difference does it make' statement applicable to a murder? Like, 'what difference does it make' who raped and murdered that little girl.

Is that a joke or an overt defense of autocracy?

Susan Rice threatened Republicans with retribution next time democrats get back in power.
She needs to see what that would feel like.
“There is likely to be a swing in the other direction, and they are going to be caught with more than their pants down,” Rice told Preet Bharara, a former U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. “They’re going to be held accountable by those who come in opposition to Trump and win at the ballot box.”

She added, “If these corporations think that Democrats, when they come back in power, are going to play by the old rules, and say, ‘Never mind, we will forgive you for all the people you fired and all the policies and principles you violated, all the laws you skirted,’ I think they got another thing coming.”

Enforcing the rule of law is what responsible governance looks like.

Gee, I had thought of trumples more as authoritarians but have it your way.

Trump demands Netflix fire Susan Rice as DOJ probes Warner deal

President Donald Trump late Saturday called on Netflix to fire board member Susan Rice or “pay the consequences,” after she said Democrats would push for corporate accountability if they regain power in the November midterm elections.

In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump described Rice, who served as President Joe Biden’s domestic policy chief and held top foreign policy posts under President Barack Obama, as “purely a political hack” with “no talent or skills.”

“HER POWER IS GONE, AND WILL NEVER BE BACK,” Trump wrote.

Rice argued during a podcast last week that “it is not going to end well” for corporations, news organizations, and law firms that “bent the knee” to Trump, and that their deference is unpopular.

For someone who miraculously managed to bankrupt a casino Don is pretty liberal with his biz advice. Just kidding. His threat doesn't have to do with Netflix's biz. I'm not even sure it has to do with retribution. It looks like blind rage over the Supremes reminding him the justification he used to recklessly slap ever changing tariffs on any country he pleased is and always was a steaming pile.

Blind rage not being the ideal frame of mind you want this prez to be in. Cuz his decision making skills are lousy under the best of circumstances. The 25th A clock should be ticking loudly now. That it isn't is a testament to his cabinet's loyalty to him.............instead of the country.
Yep. Classic authoritarian/Mafia/fascist technique. Mussolini called it "corporatism", where the leader controls, threatens, manipulates and intimidates domestic companies.

"Gee, I'd hate to see something bad happen to your company". Right out in the open. It's right there.

And the useful idiots? They don't care.

Not from the president abusing his power to try and influence her company into firing her. I don’t know why people are shy to use the word…. It is quite literally the definition of a fascist act by Trump

Yep. Retribution for mere disagreement.

She’s a vile leftist through and through.
Trump isnt expressing disagreement. He is actively using threats from the power of his political position to get her fired. Fascist
