Textbook socialist maybe not, but definitely progressive aspiring to be a real socialist society. Nearly a third of Greece employment is with the government. They spend more of their budget on pensions than anyone else in Europe. They have many benefits and tax laws that would leave most people(not progressives) scratching their heads.

Leftist ideology and practices have put them exactly where they are, in an unsustainable situation. And now the people are so dependent on government, yet the government and financial system is ready to implode. If they didn't rely on government as their lifeline, they would not be in this situation.

But hey, you don't want to hear that. So tell us how decades of "conservative" practices is to blame.
