That is a very difficult question. About the transgender people. From the one hand, a free country shouldn't tell people what their appearance should be and limit their freedom of expression (if this doesn't breach other people's rights, of course).

From the other, should 'transgenderism' be considered as some form of a mental disorder? Who knows. I assume that even specialists don't have a common opinion about that.
That would be gender dysphoria and it is, indeed, a mental disorder as much as most people seem to want to pretend that it is not.

Being 'normal' doesn't matter.

A free people are free to be 'not normal' - and no one has any right to judge them.

The real sick ones are the ones that are obsessed with what they see as 'normal' and think they have some right to judge other people.

Like I said earlier:

If you don't like living in a free country, then leave!!!
If you think that you will not be judged by outward appearances you are either lying to yourself and/or living in a naive fantasy land. By all outward appearances this guy is in denial of his own genitalia. That is a mental problem right up front and there for those with any intellect at all to see. Maybe he is good at some stuff, crazy people can be good at some stuff but, they are still crazy and therefore probably tend to be very erratic. As a voting American, I don't need to select 'crazy' for my rep.
On a gut level I agree with you...I think this person is weird. Homosexuality disgusts me. I turn off movies or T.V. shows that have homosexual love scenes.

BUT, I also recognize the right of people to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness", and therefore support their freedom to dress the way they want and to conduct their private lives however they want.

It's NONE OF MY BUSINESS how these people choose to live and It's NOT MY RIGHT TO JUDGE Them.

If this person is competent to do the job, then they should get the appointment.

Being a man wearing women's clothes and advocating transgender be taught in our schools is not competent.

Hey, Joan of Arc was executed for wearing men's clothing...

She's a Catholic saint and one of the greatest heroes of France.

Was she incompetent?

Joan lost and was captured. The male attire charge was only and excuse to execute her. Joan was not advocating for children to be taught something called 'transgenderism' like Levine promotes. Bad comparison.

That's not anywhere near the point of our discussion. Besides, it was the the Catholics who executed her.

No, it was the English Protestants that executed Joan of Arc for being a cross dresser.
"Not exactly common practice, although it’s worth noting that Joan of Arc, while convicted by the English, was actually handed over to the French clergy to be executed, and burning at the stake was less used in Britain than in other parts of Europe (at least until Bloody Mary came along - about 300 in a reign of five years!) . The French Bishop that executed her was an ally of the British:
Pierre Cauchon - Wikipedia

Either way she was executed for wearing men's clothing - she was a cross dresser.

Well, no one is advocating executing Levine. Interesting bit if history but, no comparison.
