That would be gender dysphoria and it is, indeed, a mental disorder as much as most people seem to want to pretend that it is not.That is a very difficult question. About the transgender people. From the one hand, a free country shouldn't tell people what their appearance should be and limit their freedom of expression (if this doesn't breach other people's rights, of course).
From the other, should 'transgenderism' be considered as some form of a mental disorder? Who knows. I assume that even specialists don't have a common opinion about that.
