There is a House special election today in Virginia that the Democrats are going to win. There is also a House special election on Sept 23 in Arizona that the Democrats are going to win.

That will give Massie and Khanna the 218 signatures that they need for their petition to force a House vote on releasing all the Epstein files.

The biggest question -- Will Nancy Mace chicken out and vote no after she already signed the petition? There is definitely a good chance that she will completely melt under the pressure from Trump.

From Axios --

Zoom in: From here, it all comes down to voters in the heavily Democratic electorates of Fairfax, Virginia, and Tucson, Arizona.
  • Virginia's 11th congressional district is voting Tuesday on a successor to deceased Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.). Democrat James Walkinshaw is expected to win easily in a seat that voted for former Vice President Harris by 34 points.
  • Likewise for Democrat Adelita Grijalva, who is running to replace her father, the late Rep. Raúl Grijalva (D-Ariz.), in the Sept. 23 special election in Arizona's 7th district. The seat went for Harris by 22 points last year.
  • Spokespeople for Walkinshaw and Grijalva told Axios they plan to sign the Epstein discharge petition if elected to Congress.

Good deal. Let's get it all out in the open.

Looks like Mar-A-Lago in the background to me.

Good. Everyone will get a chance to express his or her opinion about that. Good to get things off their chests. Then maybe they can get back to today's bid'ness.

Probably.

Doesn't matter anyway. The House still needs the Senate and the Prez.

Um . . . nice try?

So you take pride in Trump and the Republicans protecting child molesters? What a horrible person you are.

Well, Grijalva won, but guess what?

Closeted homo Mike Johnson won't swear her in so the discharge petition can be voted on.

Mikey is totally in the bag for Jeff Epstein's best friend.

What exactly do you think will happen when Gravitas finally does get sworn in after the Democrats reopen the government?

She signs the discharge petition and then what? The Epstein files, including a list of names of verified pedophiles with Donald Trump at the top, is instantly released?

That is what you think will happen. Isn't it?

If not, tell me the next steps.

Using the pro forma process, Closeted Mikey swore in two Republicans less than 24 hours after they were elected.

It's been five weeks since the Democrat was elected. And, I shit you not, the schizo is complaining she is pulling a stunt by not doing her job as an elected official!

No, really. He actually did that.

The reason he is not swearing her in is obvious to everyone but you, apparently.

He does not want the discharge petition voted on which will force Trump's Justice Department to release the Pedo Files.

He's protecting Jeff Epstein's best friend.

The Pedo Files are going to come out sooner or later, and no one is going to forget repressed Mike abusing his position to keep that from happening.

He is just ensuring the backlash will be brutal.

Kool Story, Bruvs! If you are going to try to publish it, I have an idea for the title:

The Pelosi Precedent

Speaker Johnson is right to encourage her to to her job, to be in her office, to manage and direct her staff, to communicate with constituents, etc. They probably have a lot of questions about when Schumer is going to end the Schutdown and they elected her to provide those answers. He is almost infinitely senior to her, she should be grateful for the chance to learn at his feet, if he is willing.

The only thing she cannot do as a Representative prior to being sworn in is cast a vote, which is moot because there will be no votes until the Democrats end their government shutdown so that Johnson can gavel the House into session.

You are wrong, sir! I feel I would be correct to say "wrong again," but I rarely read your posts, so that would not be fair. The Discharge petition will in no way force the DOJ to do anything.

You have been lied to, I'm afraid.

The discharge petition will not force the Justice Department to release the Pedo Files. It will do nothing more than get the Epstein Transparency Bill out of committee in the House.

AI Explains:

Once a discharge petition for the "Epstein bill" (formally known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act) is signed by a majority of the House of Representatives (218 members), it allows the bill to be brought to the House floor for a direct vote, bypassing the committee process and House leadership.

The key steps and outcomes once the required signatures are obtained are:

  • Forcing a Floor Vote: The primary purpose is to force a vote in the full House of Representatives on the legislation, which mandates the Department of Justice to publicly release all unclassified files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. This circumvents any potential blockage by House Speaker or committee chairs.
  • Placement on Calendar: After reaching 218 signatures, the petition is placed on the "Discharge Calendar".
  • Waiting Period: It must remain on the calendar for at least seven legislative days before it can be called up for consideration.
  • Motion to Consider: On the second or fourth Monday of a month, any member who signed the petition can offer a motion for the House to consider the bill.
  • House Debate and Vote: If the motion to consider is adopted by a simple majority, the House will then debate the bill under general rules, and a final up or down vote will be held on the Epstein Files Transparency Act itself.

Sounds time consuming. Trump may die before all that happens, He's not a young man, you know.

But . . . once that final up or down vote happens, and it is passed, that's it! The DOJ instantly releases the files!

Except . . . no.

AI goes on . . .

Important Distinction: A successful discharge petition does not automatically make the bill law. It only forces a vote in the House. For the bill to become law, it must:

  1. Pass the House of Representatives by a simple majority vote.
  2. Pass the Senate (where it would need to go through its own process and overcome a potential filibuster, requiring 60 votes).
  3. Be signed into law by the President.
Who specifically told you that the discharge petition would force the DOJ to release the Pedo List? You don't have to tell me, but you might make a mental note not to believe them anymore.
