To 12icer: Right on. Sadly, it will not happen if conservative Republicans lose the Senate. Confirming “original intent” Supreme Court justices must be the only issue in every Senate race in 2018 —— and far into the future. The minute the Democrats regain a majority in the Senate the High Court will go right back to abolishing constitutional freedoms.

Neal Gorsuch was a lock. Trump’s next nominees could change the High Court’s political philosophy for decades to come.

I am not betting that Trump and establishment Republicans in the Senate will follow through on Gorsuch. Democrats will insist on maintaining the Court’s Left-Right balance. In short: Democrats and their media mouthpieces will demand that a so-called swing vote justice decides every important case. That gives Democrats a 50-50 chance of winning a few; whereas, 6, or 7, or 8 justices who look at original intent reduce Democrat odds to one in a million.
