There are several kinds of child abuse, one that is not spoken enough...

People in this country don’t realize that a lot of the things that they eat, they’re body doesn’t need, and that’s not just limited to just what most people consider junk food. Americans from childhood to late in life, eat like shit

That sounds pretty awful and little too sweet. Besides, if I am going to blow a week's intake of sugar on breakfast it better be in doughnut, bear claw, or danish form.

I personally think carnivore diet or keto is the best for you. When you’re on those diets after a period of time you don’t really get cravings, and you have more energy in general.

There is no doubt our food supply is the EXACT REASON for many of our health issues. But go ahead eat garbage love me mcpukes etc and see where it gets you. Is there that many people who believe a diet full of sugar isn't bad? Food companies know of the addiction sugar has its well documented. I hold food companies accountable.

At the parents.

So ... what do you feed your children? ...
They are grown.
My ex wife is Mexican, she mostly made their breakfast.
Usually an omelet with red or green salsa, she would also make ahead of time tortillas with an egg/cheese omelet inside that you could microwave.
Never gave them soda, from day one.

I have to admit, that my grandfather spoiled me. He always had cookies and candy for me. :D Chocolate chip cookies and, coincidentally, chocolate kisses. Lol. He had other grandchildren too (my cousins) but he always gave me more because I was his favorite. Ironically, I am thinner than they are. :dunno: I was an active child though, and played outside most of the time, did gymnastics and cheering and dance too. That's why I tend to think that being overweight, having diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. has a lot to do with not being active. If you aren't burning off those extra calories, it leads to trouble.

I get so pissed off at the grocery store when I see stupid parents buying shit like this for their young child.
Difficult not to say anything, it really is.
Looks like a bowl of dog-turds..LOL!
That being said..it is not for the store, nor for the Govt.--to regulate things like this. It is the parent's responsibility..to teach and to regulate.
Some parents today..like in yesteryear..like things to be easy. Giving in to their children's desires makes it so, at least in the short term. I prefer our current method to the outlawing of certain items..by the State..in an attempt to 'teach' us how to be healthy. Where would it end? Should the State codify parenting..issue a guide-book? A list of rules...put kids in foster homes to save them from sugar? Absurd!

The right to choose..includes the right to choose poorly, otherwise it is meaningless.

Well, just saytin, I don't believe I said anything about the store or the government's responsibility to regulate diets.
I said - STUPID PARENTS.

It was the way you worded your sentence. It sounded as if you were blaming the grocery store too.

I know that nutrition should be varied. Yes, you can buy in the store Mars or sugary cereal, but don't have only this every day to feed your baby. Similarly, I believe that eating sweets every day isn't normal. But for a birthday party or Christmas ... That's fine, isn't it?

Honestly this food is not tasty at all to me... I can't understand why some kids love it so much :eek-52:
I also think this food are some kind of...poison...but we can't do anything!
Everything we eat (or at least almost everything...) is junk food :frown:

I fought the good fight..oatmeal in the mornings..limited their soda intake--fruits for desert..etc.. Of course, they hated me for it..and cheated every-time they could..but such is parenting. I note that now that my kids are parents..they mostly follow my rules..thus is irony!

One thing to note...any parent that indulges in the old , 'do as i say, not as I do', when setting dietary examples..or anything else really..is lacking in skills and turning out a kid just like them....hypocritical and prone to cheating..IMO.
I had my son on the Feingold diet in lieu of medication for ADHD. It worked, but like you said, the cheating was inevitable. Now he would prefer fresh fruit over a piece of triple chocolate cake and he says he still puts yogurt on his pancakes.
Sugar is addictive, I have noticed. I don't normally buy cookies or candy, but if I should buy a candy bar or a piece of pie at the diner, the next day I find myself craving another.

....diabetes and obese problems are usually caused by genetics....we never worried about what we ate and my family is very healthy
....parents also do other stupid things--but buying ''sugary'' cereal is not one of the worst things to do for a child
..you get pissed?? when they buy Hershey's Kisses Cereal??
--what about all the kids getting shot? etc?
Sorry, but you are wrong.
Childhood diabetes type 1 was extremely rare prior to 1955. It has been on the rise, every decade, ever since.
Type 2 Childhood diabetes - there were no reported cases prior to the 1960's. Even as late as the 1980's it was very rarely diagnosed.
It follows the exact same rise in childhood obesity, once rare, now common.
Type 1 diabetes has nothing to do with what you eat.
Type 1 diabetes occurs when your immune system, the body's system for fighting infection, attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Scientists think type 1 diabetes is caused by genes and environmental factors, such as viruses, that might trigger the disease.
