Taking over trumps crashed economy, Biden did the job of bringing the American economy out of the Covid recession and partially restoring it.
However, Obama and Biden had eight years to restore W’s economy. Biden only had four and the work of foreign trade, and the trade deficit was not anywhere close to being completed.
In his last administration, Donald Trump increased your trade deficit by 30% in three years after eight years of stability and lowering deficits under Obama.
Nobody’s going to open a manufacturing business in the United States when there’s no way of knowing what your supply lines are export markets are going to be like when you’re finished building it.
Trump could wake up in a bad mood and get pissed off at your supplier nation and you can’t get your raw materials as a result. Or your export market is gone. Corporate fiscal planning is impossible so why risk it.
One of the primary reasons why the trade deficit with Canada has skyrocketed since trumps first term is because companies are now relocating to Canada for the healthcare, better, educated workforce, but mostly for the political stability.
Even if the Conservatives were to take over tomorrow, they’re not stupid enough to tear up all of our trade deals or security alliances and tear down our federal government.
And even if they were, they wouldn’t last an office long. They’d be gone in six months or less. The Canadian people don’t put up with that shit. Government works for us, not the other way around.
