The word of the year is "brat"

It describes a person who is "characterised by a confident, independent and hedonistic attitude".

Older members will remember that last years word was "Riz" a derivative of charisma. I could get behind that because I have buckets of riz.

However brat is not something I applaud. Its been around for a long time and is not new or insightful in any way. I give it a big tommy thumbs down.

I much prefer one of the runners up.

delulu, being unrealistic with your expectations, also makes it onto this year's list.

I can see delulu in many aspects of life and I think its a word I can use a lot. For example Mrs T is delulu if she thinks I will spend the weekend trudging around the local supermarket with her picking out stuff I may want to eat. She is more than capable of doing that herself.

I am not delulu in that resspect.

I do hope next years words are better.
