The wind farms angering renewable energy fans

In the ranges behind Cairns, bushland is being cleared in the name of climate action. It’s pitting eco warriors against green energy projects.

Snip

So after the opening ceremony, he walked to the top of Mt Emerald to get aerial shots of the site.

Steve had bushwalked through Mt Emerald’s native scrub years earlier and knew the landscape well.

He had no idea at the time that Mt Emerald would become just one of many wind and solar projects proposed, or already under construction, in this part of Queensland, some on significant tracts of unspoilt wilderness.

“It’s really out of control,” Steve says. “And no one knows about it.”

Welcome to the biggest scam in history pal

If you can lay waste to pristine wilderness with wind farms .....Savin the earth pfffffft lol

B-But, DY, the Chinese have to sell all those big turbines to someone! We gotta destroy the environment, rip out all those oxygen-producing, CO2-eating trees, and destroy all the bio-diverse habitat and land to put up those bird-killing fan blades! It's called Saving The Planet! Get with the plan, dude. :smoke:

Really? That's odd. The windmills that I see here in Oregon in the wheat fields only take up the space of their bases, and the wheat grows and is harvested right up to the bases. I see no reason that would not be the case in wildlands. They won't be in National Parks in the US, but there are plenty of places in the National Forest and BLM land that they would work well.

Then how do they get the windmills to do maintenance? If all there is, is the base?

Sadly, one day there will not be a place on earth that is pristine, wilderness, everywhere we will look we will see Old Crock's dream, giant windmills which cause us trillions of dollars and will barely power a house.

Just about as dumb as anything I have read today. The wind turbines hardly destroy the environment. And most are sited on ridge tops, or in plains country where there are not that many trees. Just your stupid luddite instincts coming to the fore. Not even mentioning what strip and mountain top mining for coal does to the environment.

somebody here describes the destruction of wilderness as progress,

building something that gives very little in return is not progress

How do people see this destruction as progress.

Because they don’t live there and they have zero taste. These are the same idiots legislating incandescent lights into extinction.
Retarded baboon sheep.

You stupid ass, the birds and animals live quite happily in that scrub, little affected by those turbines. Now let us look at how others get energy;

Rep. Pete Olson (R-Texas) told an oil and natural gas industry meeting Tuesday that he wants to loosen federal rules on drilling, including allowing some oil and gas exploration in national parks.

Olson said drilling could be safe and preserve the value of national parks, Platts reported.

WTF?

Tar sands and coal are needed for wind and solar. Wind and solar are the largest industry in the world. A majority of the mining now and into the future belongs to green energy.

Green energy is the biggest polluter on earth.

That oil is needed to supply the world's largest industry with chemicals, green energy requires those chemicals and is now the largest polluter on earth.
