This is a great entertaining western about one of the US first corrupt judges. Gary Cooper plays the Westerner who falls into the corrupt clutches of Judge Roy Bean and escapes hanging by inventing a relationship with music hall star Lily Langtry.

Cooper is the nominal star but the film belongs to Walter Brennan as Bean. Bean is a tool of the cattlemen and runs his court on that principle. Its great fun.

I looked it up and Bean was an actual judge in the old west.
I guess he is part of the reason that the US has such a low opinion of the judiciary.

I do wonder what he would have made of modern corrupt judges like Clarence Thomas ? Im sure he would have chuckled at his antics.

Its a good film and well worth a watch.

It has nothing to do with our opinion of the "judiciary".

More bullshit from taint. Assholes like taint love to claim that Justice Thomas “is” “corrupt.” No evidence supports that asshole claim, of course. Taint is just a stupid troll.

This is a great example of how corruption thrives. People look away.

Intelligent people understand that "The Westerner" is a fictional tale of a real person.
It is not real history.

The far-left extremist Democrat Party has corrupted and weaponized our law enforcement and judiciary.
Trump is cleaning up our FBI and DOJ.

Hopefully President Trump will be able to appoint several new Supreme Court judges and lot of federal judges.

No you didnt. Thomas is your man so you look the other way.
Thomas is a great man. That’s true.

But there is no evidence of any kind supporting your asshole claiming corruption.

None. Zip. Zilch. Kinda like your intelligence, non-existent.

Please give you verifiable evidence for why Justice Clarence Thomas is corrupt? In my opinion he is one of the truly great Americans thoroughly grounded in the letter and intent of the U.S. Constitution which makes him a great Supreme Court justice.

Also the honest historical track record of Judge Roy Bean is a real mixed bag of fact, good/bad, just/unjust and almost all of it somewhat distorted by historians over the years. Most can be relegated to folklore now as the actual truth an be elusive.

Some of those old westerns I watch have some of the hottest women. ooo la la
