BUT I GET THE IDEA: Basically, the reason why most of the southwestern USA has scrubgrass and deserts is because it normally is more arid than in the East. Hot and Dry---- part of what makes Tornado Alley.
That's why I posted the graphics, so that you'd have a visual representation of the drought without access to the link. The link was kindly provided by myself so you'd know the source of the graphics.
Great. Now show me ten years when there WASN'T some sort of heat wave or drought in the southwest! As far as the article shows, those maps could have been of anything, heat or drought!
