I'm against all foreign aid, with the possible acceptation of helping a country out after a huge disaster. Foreign aid perpetuates the bad reasons a country needs aid.

I don't consider NK to be enough of a threat to the US do do anything about NK. We should stop giving them aid and otherwise leave them alone. But, if we want to help SK, they should take lead because they're the ones who'll pay with their blood.

Since the post is in the military forum we should address the military adventure. Harry Truman sent Troops to Korea under an (illegal?) executive order. Truman hired a tired old Soldier who had done his duty in WW1 and retired prior to WW2 to be the commander of U.S. Troops in Korea. MacArthur never spent a single night in Korea and depended on skewed "intelligence" from a flawed and alleged racist general Ned Almond. MacArthur planned the brilliant Inchon landing that turned the tide and essentially won the war within a logical time span and with acceptable casualties but Truman couldn't confront or wasn't willing to confront the General's plan to use tired and poorly supplied American Troops in a freaking ego trip to the Yalu river at the start of the worst winter weather in the world and even when the Chinese pledged to enter the war. It was the biggest military blunder in modern American Military history but the media chose to call it the "Forgotten War" to cover up the loss of an estimated 50,000 Americans in three years and an embarrassing truce that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
