The US could Save $5.6B a year if it Switched from Coal to Solar – study

If this thread was a newspaper story today in a 100 page newspaper, it would be on page 98!! :bye1:
Just in front of the story on the National Navel Gazing Championships!

Slight regional cooling at the panels, slight regional warming at point of use.
If that's your evidence for a new ice age from solar power, you came up short again.
So happy that you finally acknowledged the cooling effect of solar farms.

If lower albedo was the dominant factor there wouldn't be regional cooling at the solar farms, dummy.

Why does lower albedo at the farms cause the globe to cool?
Explain it from an engineer's viewpoint.

I have already many times, what did I tell you? What does the paper say?

If you have a paper showing that lower albedo cools the globe, post it.
If you have a paper showing that using solar power cools the globe, post it.

We find that solar panels alone induce regional cooling by converting incoming solar energy to electricity in comparison to the climate without solar panels.

You have already agreed with me. Game over.

I agree, you don't have a paper showing that lower albedo cools the globe.
I agree, you don't have a paper showing that using solar power cools the globe.

Solar panels change the way sunlight is reflected and absorbed by the Earth. Any radiation they take in is radiation that's not being absorbed by the Earth. This leads to a cooling effect in the region surrounding the array.

Solar panels change the way sunlight is reflected and absorbed by the Earth.

Any radiation they don't reflect back to space is absorbed by the Earth.
This leads to a global warming effect.
