Putin is not seen as a threat to European leaders. No common sense citizen of the EU wants to be Russia. So they swallow any sense of ethics and keep Putin economically propped up.I remember when Trump was painted as a Putin puppet as he came down hard on Zelenski in the Oval Office telling him he had no cards to play. But after Trump saw that Putin was thumbing his nose at him in the process, he then turned on Putin.
It's called the art of negotiation, as Europe has enabled monsters like Putin and Hitler as a baseline.
Will the TDS Left in Europe help Trump?
Sadly, probably not as they appear to prefer Putin.
Trump IS seen as a threat. His unique and successful sense of economic policy, international relations and his ability to accomplish 'impossible' things is something they both admire and resent/fear because they and their form of government can't accomplish anything close to that. And I think they fear their people may start thinking they should be more like America.
Thus he is a threat to their leadership, along with that of American Democrats, unless they can convince the people he is a tyrant, dictator, king or whatever.
