All they have to do is wait till Trump is gone, for this and a whole number of other things.

No big deal really.

“Before Donald Trump's presidency, the United States was assessed to pay approximately 22% of the United Nations' regular budget and around 28% of the peacekeeping budget. These percentages have remained relatively consistent over the years”

The US should pay no more than 5% of the UN budget

Trump is bring blamed by withholding about $4 billion from the UN and that is pushing the globalist agenda organization into the red

The problem as I see it is that other countries are not their fair share while we pay too much

We should cap our contribution at 5% of the UN budget
No, we should leave that corrupt organization, and kick them out of the USA.

I wont go that far

Just cutting off their money is a huge blow to the UN

I suspect it has a lot to do with this:

Today, President Trump announced the U.S. is leaving 66 anti-American, useless, or wasteful international organizations. Review of additional international organizations remains ongoing.

These withdrawals keep a key promise President Trump made to Americans - we will stop subsidizing globalist bureaucrats who act against our interests. The Trump Administration will always put America and Americans first.

The retreat from relevance as a world power continues.

On the contrary, the US is the most relevant and powerful country on the face of this planet.

But I can see how you'd disagree with that, seeing how you folks believe we shouldn't be.

I love how politico writes the article to make it look like the United States is the only one who hasn’t paid. There are 193 member states, and I only like 60 of them have paid.

I also like how the article states that the United Nations 95% their budget comes from the United States.

The United States under the Trump regime is working had to make itself irrelevant.

No one trusts or believes Donald Trump.

The stink of serial corruption permeates what Trump thinks is foreign policy.

Insulting, denigrating and betraying our allies is not making America stronger or more relevant.

I predicted that Trump would betray the Atlantic Charter and our commitment to global institutions and leadership in 2016.

Folks like you called me everything in the book for saying so.

Now that my prediction is coming true, you cheer for the march away from leadership.

Looks like they’re going to have to cut back on hookers and cocaine for a while.

Gee that's too bad. Not really the UN is worthless anyway

We aren’t relevant, yet we are single handedly breaking the UN

Weird

How is the US "irrelevant"? That depends on your own metric of evaluation, which I would guess is skewed by your hatred of Trump. You seem to be oblivious to the fact that under President Trump, the US is going through a period where we now have a strengthened, assertive US military and economic role on the world stage.

The U.S. economy has seen significant growth in 2025 and 2026, often described as a "boom," with projections of strong GDP growth and increased foreign investment. The use of "America First" policies and tariffs has, according to many perspectives, allowed the U.S. to force other nations to engage in trade on terms more advantageous to the U.S.

The Trump administration has demonstrated an unparalleled global reach and enhanced effectiveness, as seen in actions regarding the Middle East and Latin America.

Just for shits and giggles, let's ask AI a question and see how it responds:

"Is the US under President Trump now the most relevant country in the world?"

"Yes, based on a variety of global rankings and metrics assessing economic might, military power, diplomatic influence, and cultural impact, the United States remains widely regarded as the most relevant—or influential—country in the world as of February 2026, during President Donald Trump's second term.

To clarify, "relevance" here is inherently subjective and can vary by context (e.g., economic dominance, geopolitical sway, or media presence). However, objective data from independent sources consistently positions the US at the top. For instance:
  • In terms of overall power, the US leads global rankings due to its massive economy (the world's largest by nominal GDP at over $26 trillion), technological innovation, and extensive international alliances.
  • Militarily, the US holds the #1 spot in the 2026 Global Firepower Index, with unmatched defense spending (over $900 billion annually), the largest air force, and advanced capabilities in cyber, space, and nuclear domains—far surpassing runners-up like Russia and China.
  • Other assessments, such as those from US News & World Report, emphasize the US as the foremost leader in shaping global economic patterns, politics, and headlines.
While challengers like China (often ranked #2 for its rapid growth and manufacturing dominance) and Russia (#3 for military and energy influence) are rising, no source in current analyses displaces the US from its preeminent position. Trump's policies, such as emphasizing "America First" trade deals and military rebuilding has contributed greatly to this standing."

We paid most of the budget each year and the deadbeat nations still hate us
