I'm not sure how DOGE violates law, regardless of immunity.

The problem with immigration is simply that because the dems and gop cannot strike a deal in amending immigration law and setting limits, the executive is simply expanding the scope of laws already passed.

SCOTUS didn't give the President immunity. The President is immune from civil and criminal liabilty for official acts, which has always been the case...just like just about everyone else in Govt.

Since most illegals do not have a "Notice To Appear", they are not seeking asylum as they dont have a court date and have no intention of getting one. I heard that Biden told ICE to not hand out NTA's.

Even before the new batch came, there were 2 million people awaiting asylum hearings in 2021 with only 1700 caseworkers to process and adjudicate their cases. Now, the way it's supposed to work is they get a hearing in 180 days.

The reality is the average wait time is four years. My wife was waiting 7 years and her case wasn't resolved by the time we got married in 2023. (She withdrew her asylum claim and we went with a relative sponsorship instead.)

Yes it is. They are out on a bond awaiting their hearing to determine if they are in fact granted asylum.
