For the record, I know we disagree on some things, but, I respect you - we can have a conversation, unlike some of the others I have seen on this board.

I don't consider myself anything. I see all this ideological stuff as a bunch of BS. I want a limited government, enough to provide for the needs of the people, one that does not intervene in foreign lands across the world. I want a strong southern border, to a greater extent than Trump (and where we also put a cap on any legalized immigrants coming in from Latin America, too). I also want us to invest a lot in Human missions into Space, getting a base on the Moon, and sending people to Mars. I want us to be the first ones there within our lifetime. The US was once a nation of a dreamers and pioneers. We need to get back to that, instead of arguing over tribal politics. You know, stuff that actually makes a difference. Stuff people will remember us by.

All this screaming over Dems and Republicans? People forget it the next week. It is worthless.

It’s easy to see why people would embrace the idea of a deep state and why they viewed Trump as the person to fight against it. We all know this is one of the reasons for Trump’s electoral success and continued support. Even during his first term, as his promises to lock up Hillary Clinton went broken, there was an excuse. The deep state was working against him.

Then came the current Jeffrey Epstein public relations nightmare. Now, Trump finds himself in a very unusual position. The very case he used to illustrate the scope of the deep state is now revealing to his most ardent supporters that the emperor is naked — and perhaps they’ll even conclude that he might even be on this alleged Epstein list himself.

Now, MAGA loyalists are seeing their deep-state savior do everything possible to hide, minimize and convince them that the conspiracy he has been selling them never existed in the first place.
