President Donald Trump's 28 point peace plan proposal for the Ukraine War epitomizes the problem with the Second-Term President Trump he often ignores goodness and wisdom in his policy its principal purpose is to achieve a narrow scoped goal in this case so that President Trump can claim he ended nine wars during his second term! A good and wise peace proposal would not reward the tyrant President Putin for taking Ukrainian land by requiring the international community to recognize the legitimacy of this Russia taking because this eliminates the deterrent to other would-be tyrants that want to steal their neighbors land because it supports the belief that the tyrant can get international law to legitimize the taking. A good and wise plan would not trust Putin to abide by the plan and not further invade Ukraine because time and again Putin has proven himself untrustworthy; the plan does this by capping Ukraine force level at 600K what was the size of Russia's invasion force at the beginning of this war one million men Ukraine wouldn't be in a great position and Ukraine is permanently blocked from joining Nato and no European Union Peace Keepers will be in Ukraine. The 28-point peace plan offer by the U.S. to protect Ukraine's sovereignty does not have definitive good security guarantees from the U.S., it is the 1990's Budapest memorandum all over again where Ukraine agreed to give up its nuclear arsenal for pledges that the signatories would protect it's sovereignty which turned out to be empty pledges. This 28-point peace plan is largely a requiring of the country of Ukraine to fold in the negotiations and to concede across the board to Russia's demands. The core agenda here by President Trump seems to be to get a peace deal by largely giving Russia what it wants and since America has leverage over Ukraine because it needs Ameria's weapons to defend itself use this leverage to have the Ukraine government bend to the American President's will, it's a betrayal of the people of Ukraine and Europe by the American President! This 28-point peace plan offers no real mechanisms to make it unlikely that Putin and his army won't in a few years take the entirety of Ukraine.
President Trump's problem with the Russia negotiations is that he wants a deal too bad and that is a violation of a basic Rule in negotiations because in that state you are going to agree to terms that unduly hurt your interests. President Trump should partner with the European Union and the UK in drawing up a peace plan which is basically have a permanent cease fire and freeze the battle lines where they are and put off settling the territory issue for ten to twenty years put a robust European Union peace keeping force in Ukraine to stop Russia from starting up the war and taking more of Ukraine and make an ironclad commitment to back up the European Union peacekeeping force with American air power and Ukraine is banned from joining Nato for twenty-five years and when they join Nato no Nato forces and missiles can be kept on Ukrainian soil for seventy-five years. Putin won't accept the European Plan initially but if the momentum of the war switches against Russia he will for self-preservation reasons. The oil sanctions are beginning to bite Russia and America should authorize the Ukrainian government to use U.S. made weapons inside of Russia and these two pressure points along with the fact Putin continues to lose untenable numbers of soldiers on the battlefield will compel Putin to accept the European Union Peace deal because it will be in Putin's best interest to do so. Quite surprisingly President Trump seems to be afraid of giving Ukraine more powerful conventional weapons that Putin would see it as a line crossing and use tactical nuclear weapons, that is a fear President Obama had and caused him to refrain from well arming Ukraine and First-Term Trump seemed to rightfully dismiss that concern and gave Ukraine valuable weapons. On the nuclear weapons threat President Biden told President Putin that if he uses them he would face a devastating conventional bombing campaign from Ameria, I would have thought President Trump would be at least as tough as President Biden! It is political as well as actual suicide for Putin to use nuclear weapons and he is smart enough to know that President Trump should give Ukraine these weapons so they can give the Putin government what it deserves!
President Trump is politically foolish with his "sell-out of Ukraine" peace plan because America's independent voters are going to not forget this fact come the mid-terms and independents generally determine the outcome of elections and Republicans are going to need all the help they can get these midterms. Come the mid-terms employment is going to be in the doldrums because with the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) layoffs are skyrocketing and there is a lack of hiring of college graduates actually it is at a crisis level (these layed off people aren't going to find comparable jobs), inflation will be above the FED's two percent target and interest rates likely will be high because President Trump will put a puppet in as the next Federal Reserve Board Chairperson and the bond investment community will rightfully believe the FED is being manipulated to lower the FED Funds rate and inflation is being ignored so it will demand higher interest rates to buy U.S. Treasury bonds and so interest rates across the U.S. economy will be high! Back to my initial analysis President Trump and the country would be better served if he would use the values of goodness and wisdom in formulating his peace plan to end the Ukrainian War!
