Gohmert Gives Take on Navarro Indictment: 'You Can't Even Lie to Congress'
Repeating a talking point on the indictment of a former Trump adviser, Louie Gohmert suggested it was unfair Republicans couldn't lie to Congress or the FBI.

"Peter Navarro, an advisor to former President Donald Trump, on Friday was indicted by a federal grand jury on two counts of contempt of Congress over his stonewalling of the committee. Representative Louie Gohmert decried the indictment of a former Trump White House advisor, complaining that Republicans "can't even lie to Congress or lie to an FBI agent or they're coming after you -- it actually puts an exclamation point on the fact that we have a two-tiered justice system," Gohmert said on Newsmax.
"They're going to bury you," said Gohmert. "They're going to put you in the D.C. jail, and terrorize and torture you and not live up to the Constitution." Gohmert took the talking point further, saying Sussmann was acquitted by a jury "that had a bunch of Hillary Clinton lovers on it" who were willing to excuse his alleged lying. Being convicted of lying to Congress or the FBI can carry up to five years in prison. But Gohmert suggested the consequences Republicans could face for the offense were unfair."
Gohmert makes an excellent point....Sussmann only got off the hook because the entire jury were all Hillary Clinton lovers....and this is unfair because Navarro was also a Hillary Clinton lover too....he even said this about Hillary; “I found her to be one of the most gracious, intelligent, perceptive, and, yes, classy women I have ever met.” -- but now that he decided to be a "Conservative" and grift as a Republican -- now Hillary decides not to protect him anymore? Shameful.......Gohmert himself said it; you can't even lie under oath to Congress or the FBI anymore..and Gohmert was a judge...so it's obvious that he is A-OK with defendants lying under oath in court...it's in the Constitution!!
Another example of this blatant injustice and this 2-tiered justice system is how they decided to arrest Navarro..they literally arrested him in an airpot...in public...REALLY? ....possibly in front of people, do you know how embarrassing that is for him and his family?? Why didn't they allow him to schedule a time that is convenient for him to come down and handle the situation privately...they are basically treating like he is a regular person, or even worse, a poor...what have we become as a country?? And it's not just Peter...when Roger Stone was arrested, it was at the wee hours of the morning, his wife was disturbed, his neighbors could have seen all of this...or when they arrested Steve Bannon..they came to him on a yacht ...do you know how bad that made him look to the Chinese billionaire fugitive who owned it?? This is the real injustice in the legal system, not that systemic racial bias crap the libs talk about....the real injustice is how wealthy white Conservative men are treated by our country's highest institutions.
