As was I and you don't get any more conservative or small government advocate than I am.
you are not a small gov conserv if you are for any of those
The Federal government is constitutionally mandated to provide for the common defense.
their spying on people in the country before 9/11 already netted them all the intel they needed to stop the attack they were just too incompetent to do it.
no it is not. the threat is the same as it was and we already had the hardware in place to stop the attack. people are just pussies now and bend over to the goverment whenever they think it will make them safer
1. We would be safer
2. We would be much more fiscally solvent and prosperous
3. We would be much much more free.
4. The government would be a tiny fraction of the size and cost it currently is and maybe 99% less corrupt.
5. The financial meltdown and the BP blown out well would never have happened because the government would have been focusing on doing their job and managing that appropriately instead of protecting unions, buying votes, pushing socialistic programs, and taking away American rights.
your list is nonsense. spying on all of our eletronic communcation and doing sweeps of peoples houses for high volumes of heat (drug war) does not make us free. having the ability to indefinitely detain us without cause does not make us free.
the financial meltdown is questionably government caused but no bank was forced to make bad loans, only encouraged.
and BP? are you kidding? the blow out happened because they were allowed to operate even after hundreds of safety violations and b/c our government bent over to the oil industry and didn't make them drill relief wells alongside working ones like every other industrialized country does. that alone would have stopped the spill on the first day.
And that I believe is where Christie is going with much of the policy he is pushing as well.
isn't christie the guy who wants to ban all offshore drilling?
