All of the major Democrats are either Constitutionally unable to run (Obama), or too old to be much use in the future (Biden, Clinton, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer).

The next generation of Democrats have been decimated by the loss of over 1000 seats at the federal and state level.

So, right now, the Democrats have no one who they can get behind to challenge Trump.

Who among the Democrats will run for President in 2020? No one even knows.

It's sad, really. I would feel sorry for the Democrats if they hadn't been such asshats for the last eight years and totally deserving of this fate.

In two cases, when the Democrats had no one of note to run, Southern governors came out of nowhere, ran as dark horse candidates, and managed to pull off a win.

But the South is almost completely Republican now, so Southern Democrats can no longer save the Democratic Party from irrelevance.

Who will save the Democrats now?

They have completely demolished their conservative wing, and now, they don't even have any moderates any more.

So we can be assured that the next Democratic nominee will be a left-wing lunatic like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren, and will almost certainly lose in a landslide like McGovern in 1972.
