I went to Austria to live for 8 months many years ago. They'd just had an election and the left had got the voting age down to 16. Many of the 16 year olds voted for the right wing parties.

If we got rid of dumb people, neither party would do well at all.... why? A lot of dumb people on both sides. People who just accept a crap electoral system, think they have democracy, when really, it's almost non-existent with a two party system.

A huge percentage of the newly registered voters are young people, many voting for the first time.
