Are you saying Dems are not wanting to raise taxes?
That is correct. That is what your Novak piece actually said as well if you sanitize it for bald faced distortion.

The US economy is flat? Hardly
The Dow is up nearly 5000 points since the weeks after 9-11
And up 2200 points since Bush took office.
Typical liberal logic
People will paying more in taxes but it is not a tax increase
Your logic isn't latching onto this RSR.
There are several ways in which revenues increase without a change in the tax RATE.
There could be more people paying taxes
There could be more income to tax at the same rate
There could be those "read my lips, no new taxes" user fees that Bush 41' got busted imposing.
Funny how when a repub adds new taxes they claim that they aren't, but when a dem doesn't add new taxes or even change the tax rate they get broadsided with lies claiming the opposite.
So you do not count the huge drop after 9-11?
The Bush tax cuts have helped grow the US economy and put people to work
History will count the economic growth starting at Bush's first day and ending at his last in office.
So am I.
You are radically fudging the numbers to create a false perception. (lying)
Lots of things have "helped grow the US economy". Even aspirin can make that claim.
But "put people to work"? You are dreaming. New job starts are a fraction of what they were under Clinton. Clinton's 8 years added 14 million new jobs. Under Bush the new jobs growth is about half that rate.
the ONLY reason why unemployment isn't above 10% right now is that millions of people have retired and many of them early.
It is the baby boom retirement that is keeping unemployment from soaring not anything Bush did.
By not keeping the tax cuts - it is a tax increase
Why are libs so hyper to take more money from the producers and give it to the nonproducers?
Libs tried to talk down the US economy in 04 and lost
The US economy is doing very well - and libs cannot accept the fact tax cuts are working
You will have to wait till we have a dem as president to whip out that old saw RSR. NEXT!
Why are you making up this tripe?
Historically the GOP always spends more than it taxes and historically Dems rebalance the budget.
It makes little difference which admin raises the taxes to pay for republican programs. The GOP spends like lottery winners and doesn't have the check to cover it.
I agree Republicans spent to much, but the tax cuts are working
Record revenues to the government, more people working, and paying taxes
Fewer people working. We have a 60% employment rate among the "working age population" according to the Bureau of labor stats. We have a 90% employment rate even among the "labor force" according to the BLS.
We have a decrease of 35% in new job starts since 2000.
Were it not for the fact that so many baby boomers have retired we would have 10% unemployment.
Revenues always rise. Revenues have to rise approx 4% every year to keep pace with the corrosive inpact of inflation. 4% growth measured in inflated dollars is zero growth.
Tax cuts work everytime
They worked for JFK, Reagan, and Pres Bush
Libs need to uderstand that
You should define what you mean by "tax cuts work".
And perhaps compare that to the deficits for those same admins.
The tax cuts of Reagan, and both Bush's did not grow the economies.
Reagan was faced with a currency collapse as the US dollar was unwinding because Nixon took us off the gold standard. He had to allow inflation and taxes to increase to rescue the dollar.
But those are desperate measures that you have to pay for later.
FDR did essentially the same thing to lift the US out of the depression, but for diff reasons.
Both Bush's simply spent with dangerous abandon. And without any compelling need.
If a 4.5% unemployment rate is bad - please give me more
When Reagan came in after Pres Peanut the US had double digit inflation, double digit interest rates, and near double digit unemployment
The revenue to the government DOUBLED to over $1 trillion
Libs have been trying to rewrite history ever since
The same is happeneing now
The Buish tax cuts puleed us out of the Clinton recession
No but they are what the people who vote on one line of information use to deside.
The current crop of Rs dont need truth they just need one good line.
It short "tax cut"
then they use one more for those who can absorb two lines
"Tax and spend liberals"
when you are simple minded it doesnt have to be the truth just easy to remember.
