“Since the death of Christ,
almost every century has seen the persecution of Christians,
there have always been heroes
and martyrs who gave their lives –
often in horrible ways –
for Christ and their faith.
If we hope to reach our goal some day,
then we, too, must become heroes of the faith.”

Franz Jägerstätter

I could not listen to the video because my computer sound went out a few days ago.

So I read about him at Wikipedia.

I do so admire the Roman Catholic Church's system of honoring courageous people by making them saints.

If I believed in "God," I would definitely be a Roman Catholic. Its rituals are so reassuring.

I am a coward -- physically & socially.

So I really admire Blessed Franz Jagerstatter so much.

It must be really comforting to believe that "God" exists and that we are all here to serve Him/Her.

Thanks to the OP for introducing me to him.

Saints are wonderful examples for our young people to emulate -- instead of actors & singers & athletes, some of whom are not very nice human beings.
