The Schumer Shutdown Firings Are Underway

37 trillion in debt is not enough.

Service on the debt is the biggest annual expense now.

We give hundreds of billions of dollars to other countries, when we are not only broke, we are 37 trillion below broke.

Trump should have never signed off on a budget that adds to debt when he was 45. Make Congress override the veto.

Those who claim $37 trillion in debt does not matter are the same people who claim MAR A LAGO is worth $17 million.

Any business that was $37 trillion in debt and service of that debt was the biggest annual expense would RIF FOR ******* SURE.

REALLY, THEY WOULD DECLARE BANKRUPTCY.

I say cut 2/3s of government and go from there.

Go for it.

There are approximately 3,000,000 federal government employees. That means firing 2,000,000. It would cripple not only the "lib" agencies it would cripple things like border security, law enforcement, Air Traffic would shut down, rail service, inspections of incoming cargo at ports, the criminmal and civil federal courts, tax collection, financial payments, Social Security, MediCare, and the list goes on.

The party that - attempts to do it - will be booted so fast out of power it would make heads spin and they would be out of power for generations.

But if that floats your boat, again, go for it.

We’ll keep some of those things in the 1/3rd left

Oh, you will keep them all.

The point isn't that they would be eliminated, they would be crippled. Two different things.

That's the problem with the bumper sticker mentality, people don't think through consequences.

The Schumer Shutdown Firings Are Underway

10 Oct 2025 ~~ By Katie Pavlich

Permanent firings of federal government workers are underway as Senate Democrats continue their refusal to vote for a clean continuing resolution that doesn't fund National Public Radio or healthcare for illegal aliens.
"The RIFs have begun," Office of Budget and Management Director Russ Vought posted on X Friday. RIF is short for "reduction in force."

Before the shutdown, Vought explained what Democrats are demanding from Americans and at what cost.

During a meeting with his Cabinet Thursday and the Finnish President, President Donald Trump previewed the cuts as Democrats continue to play games.

Commentary:
The correct framing of the issue is why does the U.S. Senate require 60 votes for anything related to the budget?
If we care about “democracy”, (which the corporate media sometimes harps about IF it can use that term to denigrate Trump and MAGA), then elections must have consequences the minority gets no veto power over appropriations for discretionary spending.
In a Civil Society, one would think that the vast preponderance of the pep[e would agree on the 'Common Sense' things to do.
The filibuster used to be 67 votes to pass until some magic was performed by Mondale in 1975 to make it 60 votes.
If the vast preponderance don’t agree, do nothing.
Of course we could always go kinetic in the absence of common sense....
Cutting Federal employment is the only option in this case. The number of Federal Government civilian employees is approximately 2,000,000
Reduction In Force layoffs on Friday = 4,000, more to come on Monday and the day after.
Wake me up when the RIFs get to 500,000 then we'll be talking numbers.

Thanks "DOGE" Chuck.

Once people get paid with checks and benefits, they do not want to give it up so easily. It's others that must give it up. This is a conundrum.

That's like a doctor saying go ahead and have that 500lbs patient lose 300lbs and see what happens.

What's wrong with downsizing the federal gov't? The US is the most broke nation in history.
