Wokeism is on the rise on the right. From the NYTs

“….Critics of the conservative movement have said that the Trump administration and its allies in the media are exploiting Mr. Kirk’s death to wage a campaign of repression. They have begun drawing an unflattering comparison to other recent efforts to police political discourse, pointing out that the right’s response fits a familiar pattern.

The right, they assert, has gone “woke.”

….
The term “woke right” had been circulating in online political commentary for months before Mr. Kirk’s assassination. It suggests — in terms that most conservatives find repellent — a legal and rhetorical framework that mirrors the unforgiving tactics that critics say the left used to make academic theories about social justice mainstream.

James A. Lindsay, a writer who spoke at several events for Mr. Kirk’s organization Turning Point USA and became popular in right-wing circles for pillorying wokeness, started using “woke right” several years ago as he saw some conservatives grow more rigid in their beliefs. He has described it as an effort by some activists on the right to use “moral shaming, purity tests and social media pile-ons to enforce loyalty.”

Mr. Lindsay said he believed the right was heading down a self-destructive path if it continues to demand a pound of flesh for slights against Mr. Kirk, whom he considered a friend. “I understand that this thing we call the culture war is very important to settle, and that there is a side that needs to win this,” he said.

“But on the other hand,” he added, “how you win matters."

Rod Dreher, another conservative writer who has embraced the “woke right” criticism, wrote before the Kirk assassination in The Free Press that he was troubled by what he saw as the totalitarian tendencies of a repressive right, just as he was troubled by a repressive left.

The woke right is a rising. You see it in this forum. Threads attempting to ban words or topics MAGAs find objectionable, a trend towards repressing speech by the right, and the use of purity tests as to who is MAGA.

Woke was a disaster for the left and it will be a disaster for the right. So, go for Woke, MAGAs!

No, the Left, as usual, is just trying to pin their poisonous cultural movement on US.

Rejected.

This post makes no sense at all. Its all part of the lefts use of language to distort reality. So we have the redefinition of woke. Its laughable. They tried to redefine gender how did that work out. As the woke progressive socialist left declines in popularity we are going to see more of this incoherent nonsense and violence as well. We are seeing the slow death of an ideology and its not just America. Its spreading to Europe and South America. America is leading the way.

He may be the first conservative I've ever heard say that how you win matters.

It was a conservative who coined the term ‘woke right.”

Distorting reality is exactly what the woke right does.

You cannot possibly defend the horrid things that you've done to people who disagree with you for at least two decades, so you now piss and moan that y'all can't measure up to the rules that you made up?

Your post makes ZERO sense. I made of point of writing wokeism was a disaster for the left. Are you saying you are fine wokeism on the right?

It makes perfect sense...You expect unilateral disarmament.

You loathsome little skunks set the rules of engagement, now you don't like the taste of your own medicine.

Cry us a river.

As The Amazing Lucas told the racist Piers Morgan and his white supremacist colleagues earlier this week on his own show, that it's interesting to see the party that's told the world for over a decade to "**** your feelings" and "facts don't care about your feelings" suddenly overwhelmed by their feelings and demand that everyone else accommodate their precious feelings.

The OP illustrates this perfectly.

Conservatives are infamous for their hypocrisy.
No they do what they say they are going to do and do it. Democrats never admit what their goals are.
Biden is sharp as a tac
The border is not open
Inflation is transitory
Energy policy is designed to forced people to buy EV cars
Kamal Harris was great success

Manipulation of language has been a tool for both right-wing and left-wing authoritarianism.
If you are right, then the game is over for us all. A lot of people have warned you for many years. The Kirk assassination was a chance for you to soften your rhetoric.

See nothing wrong about people or gov employees on a PERSONAL LEVEL supporting honoring the man who was killed.
What i don't understand is why the gov of USA would involve their self's on a gov level?
WHAT GOV THING did he do to earn that?

Kirks murder has expanded the nations movement to the right in a big way.

No, it gave them a reason to complain when their rules got turned back on them....Not that I believe this is an intellectually equal situation, let's just accept the premise at face value and work back from there.

It's the classic reaction of the bully, who gets his ass kicked by his victim...Suddenly, the game isn't fun or legit anymore...Suddenly, they want to call for peace.
