His debt was to inject stimulus into the economy to avoid the second great depression caused by Republicans. Of which he succeeded. Trump and Bush were fixated on catering to the wealthy which has exploded our debt with trillions of dollars in tax cuts. We don't get a return from that spending. The debt Obama incured yielded a return, of which Trump took credit, until he himself tanked his own economy by pretending Covid was a hoax.
And, if the GOP defaults on the debt ceiling, our deficit will explode again, becuse they have zero understanding about how that works. The GOP is just a gigantic shit show;
