I came across an article about a possible trip of the president of Russia to New York in order to take part in the UN General Assembly’s 70-th anniversary session. The article briefly describes the main points included in the previous speeches of the president. But what caught my attention is the assumption that a question about the reform of the Security Council - in particular scrapping the SC permanent members’ right of veto - may be raised at the session. Such questions have been raised several times over last years, but without much success. But I think that everything may change in the coming years.
What do you think? What consequences may it have for the UN and its member states in particular Russia?
Here is a link. The article is available only in Russian, unfortunately.
