Well, I have no doubt that there are many "real stories" of January 6th.
And we've seen various iterations of them weekly as one or more insurrectionists are either found (thank you, Sedition Hunters) and arrested, or are being convicted for their criminal assaults.

For example, just this morning there is this coverage of some bloke from Mississippi and his cousin from Alabama, In contradistinction to the various Trump's Duped & Snookered's narratives that all the rioters were invited into the Capitol and hosted by the Capitol police, well, we get trial testimony of one J6 Jackass or another who used a shield, a flagpole, construction lumber, etc. to break windows or doors to gain entry. Evidently, they were too impatient for the police invitation and meet&greet line.

Here's a taster on yesterday's conviction of these two MAGA Slow Leaks who are now going to jail. One of 'em for 9 years. So much for being too impatient to wait in line to go vandalize our Capitol. Eh?

"Thomas Harlen Smith, 45, of Mathiston, Mississippi, was sentenced to 108 months in prison, and 36 months of supervised release, the U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Mississippi said in a news release Tuesday. His cousin, Donnie Duane Wren, 44, of Athens, Alabama, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison,

Smith pushed his way to the front of a group of rioters and thrust a flagpole "like a spear" five times trying to break a window next to the doors of the Lower West Terrace, officials said. Smith then "surged" through the door and he and other rioters pushed into a line of Metropolitan Police Department officers attempting to hold the door shut.

Federal prosecutors said both men placed their hands on the officer’s shields and pushed against the line. Wren leaned all his weight on the riot shield, preventing an officer from advancing, and was one of the first assaults on the Terrace that began a fight between rioters and police trying to clear the area. During this altercation, according to prosecutors, Smith saw an object fly by him and strike an officer to whom he yelled: “You deserve that, you piece of s—!”

At about 4:35 p.m., prosecutors said Smith kicked an officer in the back, knocking him to the ground. He then picked up a metal pole and threw it toward the police line, striking two officers in the head.

Smith posted about the Capitol breach on his personal Facebook page writing: “Patriots stood together and battled the tyrannical cops throughout the entire afternoon.”

Well, it is true that no indictments (that I know of) for "insurrection" have been levied by the DOJ or any other authority.
Instead, they have opted for "sedition", or "seditious conspiracy".
But a rose by any other name is still..........a rose.
And those perps who were charged with sedition very likely wish they were charged with "insurrection".
Because.........well, because the penalty, the jail-time, for insurrection is a lot less than 'sedition'
