It was Mussolini in his Doctrine of Fascism (1932) who said that in the Fascist State the individual is not suppressed, but rather multiplied, just as in a regiment a soldier is not weakened but multiplied by the number of his comrades. The Fascist State organizes the nation, but it leaves sufficient scope to individuals; it has limited useless or harmful liberties and has preserved those that are essential. It cannot be the individual who decides in this matter, but only the State.

So, remember this whenever something bad happens and we see sudden calls for unity and compromise from the federal government and from its legalized propaganda wing, the mainstream cable news entertainment programming and their purveyors who occupy social media and message boards like this one and others out there. Remember this whenever you find yourself as an Individual being multiplied and made liable or held accountable for someone elses actions and choices, something that you had nothing to do with. The only winner that will come of such language is the state. Freedom and Individual liberty is always the loser in such instances. This is how we end up with things like the Patriot Act and other bipartisan anti-liberty legislation from the party of one and its extreme moderate base, those who seem content to settle for ushering in all of the bad, bipartisan, anti-liberty legislation coming from both theoretical parties in Washington.

K?

I'll leave the thread with a great quotation on just this very thing. It was Frederick Douglass who correctly said that those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing up the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, and it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will.

Alright, then. This was just a friendly reminder. Enjoy your day, all.

People neglect to mention that Douglass was talking about how formerly enslaved Blacks fought and should have fought violently for their freedom. This is from the speech where he praises their freedom in the West Indies.

"All that I contend for is this: that the slaves of the West Indies did fight for their freedom, and that the fact of their discontent was known in England, and that it assisted in bringing about that state of public opinion which finally resulted in their emancipation. And if this be true, the objection is answered."

We agree. No justice, no peace.

When the lamb finds himself in the jaws of the lion he will naturally fight for his life. He will kick and he will fight. The lion will not compromise. He will only eat you alive if you lay down and let him without putting up a fight.

There are no pacts between lions and lamb. Not in this world.
